Description of the reinforced coupler:

Our improved design of the coupler effectively addresses the known issue of premature wear in the oil pump drive, offering a longer lifespan than the original hexagonal version. By using high-quality material with additional surface hardening, the lifespan of the coupler is significantly increased. This greatly minimizes the wear problem on the coupler itself as well as on the bushings of the balance shaft module and the oil pump.

Through extensive development work and numerous tests, we have achieved an optimal compromise between reducing wear on the coupler and on the bushings. It is important to understand that mere reinforcement through hardening alone is not sufficient. The combination of reinforcement and the reduction of play between the coupler and bushings is crucial for increased wear resistance. Without adjusting the hexagon size, mere hardening would not offer a significant advantage. Our solution aims to minimize the problems caused by design flaws of the original manufacturer.

Recommendation:

Typically, the small oil pumps are worn out. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the oil pump as well. Please read the product description and select the appropriate oil pump.

How do I know if the driver fits my vehicle? If your vehicle has a 2.0L TDI engine, it is very likely that a balance shaft module was installed at the factory. However, vehicle data provided by Volkswagen can sometimes be inaccurate, as experiences from authorized workshops show. The MMHP driver is suitable for almost all engine series, except for most vehicles before 2005.
When does the driver need to be replaced? The replacement of the driver depends on the mileage and the type of driver installed. Original parts and replicas often show a lifespan of less than 20,000 km in tests, while the MMHP driver often shows wear only after 70,000 km. Since the lifespan is influenced by many factors, we cannot specify an exact replacement interval. Our eGuide provides tips on how to extend the engine's lifespan and prolong the replacement intervals.
Can I get the eGuide in advance? No, the eGuide is an essential part of the delivery and is individually created for each buyer after the purchase. The access data is automatically sent via email.
What makes the driver so special? The special feature of the MMHP driver is the more precise hexagon size, which is more accurate by hundredths of a millimeter than other manufacturers. This reduces the flank play between the driver and the bushings, leading to a longer lifespan and less wear. We are the only manufacturer that adjusts the tolerances so precisely to ensure an optimal fit. We explain the importance of this precision in detail in our videos.
What distinguishes the MMHP driver from others? Our analyses show that no other manufacturer increases the size of the driver. Common terms like "reinforced" are misleading, as they may suggest that the properties of our MMHP driver can be obtained more cheaply. This is a misconception. We found no other provider offering a different hardness level or an altered hexagon size, and none provide a surface coating. Increasing the hexagon size is crucial to reducing flank play and increasing the driver's lifespan.
Why does no one else offer a larger hexagon size? The available raw materials on the market are standardized at a hexagon size of approximately 5.94 mm. The bushings in the oil pump and balance shaft module, however, require a more precise size for an optimal fit. Even Volkswagen uses this standard material. Since no more suitable material was available, we decided to develop our own material. We extensively researched the tolerances of the bushings and developed a manufacturing process that allows for a perfectly fitting hexagon size. This elaborate development and manufacturing process is a unique feature of MMHP, which we are particularly proud of and which explains why no comparable products can be found on the market.
How do I know if I need the long or short version of the driver? It is difficult to determine this based on vehicle data alone. Our driver has a length of 100mm, the longest version that can be installed. There is also a shorter version of 77.5mm used in older engines. A cut mark is attached to the driver. In the eGuide, we explain how to easily adapt the 100mm version to the shorter variant. This offers the advantage that you do not need to check which version is installed in your engine before purchase, and the vehicle can be used without prior engine opening.
What needs to be done for the installation? The installation is explained in detail with texts and pictures in the eGuide. In short, the oil pan needs to be removed, and the hexagon pin needs to be pulled sideways from the oil pump. Then, the oil pan is reattached with new sealant. This work can ideally be combined with an oil change since the engine oil and oil filter need to be replaced anyway.
Is it advisable to install the conversion system instead? Our MMHP conversion system for the 2.0L TDI engine is designed to completely remove the balance shaft module and oil pump from the engine and offers a fundamental solution for this engine type. Although the MMHP improved driver addresses one of the engine's major problems, other critical components remain in the engine. More details can be found in the product description in our shop and the linked information pages. We recommend reading our blog posts on this topic. Generally, we recommend the conversion especially for older engines. Those willing to invest in higher costs can achieve a safer solution with the conversion and better engine lubrication, which is not always guaranteed with the original, smaller oil pumps. Investing in the conversion can therefore be a sensible measure to avoid potential engine damage due to insufficient lubrication.

Hallo MM-HP Team, dieses Wochenende habe ich den verstärkter Mitnehmer Ölpumpe in einem Seat Alhambra 2.0 TDI BRT eingebaut.Den alten Mitnehmer hatte ich vor ca.2,5 Jahren und 35000km schon mal gewechselt.Der 2. Mitnehmer war schon wieder sehr stark abgenutzt und kurz vor dem Blockieren/Durchdrehen.Der jetzige ist wirklich ein sehr gutes Produkt und konnte einfach gewechselt werden.Danke nochmals für eure Arbeit und dieses tolle Produkt.Hoffe das er jetzt länger hält. Schönen guten Morgen sehr geehrte Damen und Herren.

Den Sechskant habe ich nun eingebaut, ich musste ihn vorher noch auf die 78 mm ablängen.

Von der Passgenauigkeit ist er super, das Spiel ist fast Null, top. Die Buchse in der Ausgleichswelle und in der Pumpe, sind kaum verschlissen. Werde nach 20k oder 30k km nochmal nachschauen, wie es mit dem Verschleiß aussieht.

Aber heute kann ich schon sagen, besser als das Original.

Es ist das Merkmal mit der größten oder wichtigsten Eigenschaft. Das Spiel wurde bis auf das Maximum reduziert. Mehr ist nicht möglich, da die Fertigungstoleranzen der Ölpumpe ansonsten dazu führen, dass der Mitnehmer bei einigen Pumpen nicht mit der Buchse des Ausgleichswellenmoduls fluchtet. Aber unsere Verbesserung reicht aus, um die Standzeit erheblich zu verlängern. Vielen Dank für deine Bewertung.
